Fonologie českých anglicismů

Loanwords from English are currently the most dynamic and growing segment of the Czech vocabulary of foreign origin. From a phonological point of view, though, they have not yet received the attention they deserve. The publication is the result of a grant project of the same name. It describes the regularities and deviations in the sound structure of English adjectives, the ways of adaptation, their usage and the methods of treating them in Czech lexicographic and codification manuals. The analysis is based mainly on the Phonological Database of Czech Anglicisms and the Database of Pronunciation of Foreign Words.
