The book The Importance of Having Style. A Tribute to Jana Hoffmannová was published on the jubilee of Prof. Jana Hoffmannová, PhDr., DrSc., a prominent figure of Czech linguistics renowned internationally as well.

The book is divided into five sections. These cover both the theory of style and the main areas of stylistic research (written texts, spoken language, artistic creation, language in the media). The sections illustrate the ways the findings from stylistic research are used in other fields of linguistics (e.g. grammar, syntax, lexicology, sociolinguistics).
