Misconduct Reporting (the so-called Whistleblowing)

The Czech Language Institute has an internal whistleblowing system in accordance with the Czech Whistleblower Protecting Act (Act no. 171/2023). The system is used to receive reports of alleged illegal acts that have occurred or could possibly occur at the institute. Reports are received in order to remedy the unsatisfactory legal situation or to prevent it from happening. The internal whistleblowing system protects the whistleblower from potential retaliation by the employer.

Reports of possible infringements are received independently by the following two authorised persons (AP):

Mgr. Kamila Linková
teacher at the Department of Language Studies
Ústav pro jazyk český AV ČR
Pod Vodárenskou věží 2
182 00 Praha 8
email: protipravni-1@ujc.cas.cz
GSM: +420 732 326 853

Mgr. Petr Kaderka, Ph.D.
statutary vice-director, head of the Department of Stylistics and Sociolinguistics
Ústav pro jazyk český AV ČR
Letenská 123/4
118 00 Praha 1
email: protipravni-2@ujc.cas.cz
GSM: +420 736 294 084

Reports are accepted:

  • in writing at one of the postal or email addresses listed above,
  • by telephone at one of the above telephone numbers,
  • in person.

The notifier may choose any of the AP listed above.

AP is bound by confidentiality and shall not reveal the identity of the whistleblower. AP shall confirm receipt of the report to the notifier within 7 days. Within 30 days the AP assess whether the report is eligible. This limit can be extended by another 30 days twice. If the report is found eligible, AP submits a proposal to the director with measures to remedy or prevent the infringement. The director decides on the next steps and informs the AP. AP then informs the notifier.
