Czech Dialects

Dialectal materials heplful for studying or teaching the dialects of the Czech language are available on the website Česká nářečí (Czech Dialects; e.g. the signpost to learning the dialects of the Czech language). The outputs of the joint projects of the Department of Dialectology of the Czech Language Institute and the Department of Geoinformatics of the Faculty of Science of Palacký University in Olomouc are presented, in particular the projects DG20P02OVV029 (2020-2022, NAKI II Programme) and DH23P03OVV050 (2023-2027, NAKI III Programme). The website presents the Czech Linguistic Atlas, specialised dialectal maps, ProMAP and ProPONAR softwares, DiaMa geoportal, etc. There is also an online Dialect Mapping Questionnaire, by which each native speaker of the Czech language can participate and contribute to the preservation of the wealth our dialects.
