Slovník afixů (Dictionary of Affixes)

Slovník afixů (Dictionary of Affixes) lists prefixes and suffixes but also contains numerous components of compounds that are often considered to be of similar character to affixes. Therefore the dictionary captures all important means of derivation in words used in contemporary Czech texts, including loanwords. The unconventional perspective from affixes to derived words differs from the traditional focus on the derived word itself: it brings to attention forms that are otherwise left unnoticed. Corpus as a source of data is also an advantage. The material is representative and in most cases provides reliable base for linguistic findings. The dictionary user can study the system of affixes in relation to frequency and productivity. It can also help with the problems of synonymy among affixes, relation to the base of the word and many other topics.
