K presupozicím v češtině a jejich (ne)stálosti ve vztahu ke kontextu

The book discusses different theoretical approaches to presuppositions and also different models of the so-called projection of presuppositions. The author presents his conception of these phenomena, supported by analysis of Czech language material. Presuppositions are viewed from the perspective of language use in communication, as a means that contributes to the coherence of the text. The author shows that presuppositions are not (completely) rigid in meaning, but can be modified to some extent, i.e. adapted to the context of the sentence. This view of presuppositions is applied in a case study focusing on the meanings and functions of the particle also, which is included in the book.
